Then compare it with http://cbs.williamstonstartupmarketing.com. When I updated the theme, all of my theme options disappeared. I even tried to import them. Nothing happened. Logo, colors, everything. The home page is a wreck.
Also, I can't find step-by-step documentation to help me through the MAJOR theme change. Bonus points if you can tell me where to find this documentation.
I do love this theme and have just recently put it on another client's site, so there's a lot of love here... but, just getting this update working is a bit of a headache. Thanks for your help.
That is happening because you are trying to upgrade from v1.3.9 to v2.4. As we have announced by the end of 2017, there was a major theme update where version 2 of the theme was released with new features and improvements. Backward compatibility was not guaranteed and the best option for you now is to stick with version 1.3.9 or start re-building the site with the new components.
If you just want to update plugins then we can help you do so with v1.3.9 otherwise you need to start over building your site. Of course, you will then be able to use all new stuff introduced in Bakery 2.

You are right! Most of the theme options should have been inherited. You can try to delete Bakery CPT plugin and leave only Bakery Options and Bakery Shortcodes.
Bakery 1.3.9 is secure and should work great for you. We maintained it during last year and we will also take care to keep it safe in the future.
