How to link Product Detail page to the Grid Page

    Hi Team,

Hope all is fine. We are wondering: in all the "product grid" page templates (for example http://usabakery.com/products-grid-landscape/), if you click on a particular product, the resulting action is simply a blow up of the image. We would actually preffer that instead, by clicking on the product on the grid it will take the user to the corresponding "Product Single" page with all the details of the product (for example http://usabakery.com/product-single-1/).

Additional to this detail, we now realize the templates currently presented for the product grids are "static", in the sense that we need to select all the content displayed in them. Is there any way to present the categories based on a selection of the corresponding category on the catalog, and thus showing all the products associated to the particular category? We thought the pages would be somehow tied in to the product catalog... but it doesn't seem like it... lots of manual work required. Will appreciate your kind advise, maybe we are missing a key element to activate this tie in.

We searched around and could not find anything to activate this behaviour. Can you please advise how to achieve this?

Thanks so much in advance. Also please advise on any generic "introduction" type of documentation as we are honestly not that familiar with any of the functionality at hand here. Thanks again!

    All the best,

    Max

    Hi Max,

According to your description, we propose you to use WooCommerce combined with YITH WooCommerce Catalog Mode. It will allow you to add products separately, use categories and all WC features except the cart/checkout functionality.

To do that simply install WooCommerce and YITH WooCommerce Catalog Mode, add products and categories as well as use WC Product or WC Products shortcodes instead of Product shortcode.

Hope this helps you out and please feel free to contact us again for any further questions.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Team,

Thank you so much for your kind advise on using the YITH module to deactivate the shopping features on our website, this will come in very handy indeed.

We still have various questions though, in regards to the template itself. We had initially chosen the MAIN template (http://preview.milingona.co/themes/bakery/main/) and your team had kindly populated it for us. Nevertheless, now that we have worked a bit on personalizing it to our needs we realize we may actually have to decide on using either the CATALOG template (http://preview.milingona.co/themes/bakery/catalog/order-online/) or the ONE PAGE template (http://preview.milingona.co/themes/bakery/onepage/). But before we do so, we had some additional questions to be able to make a decisio over which one best suits our requirements:

    1. In the ONE PAGE template...
      1. Is the "Products" section created in a static way (using WP Builder), or do we have the option of tying it into WooCommerce to show the products we currently have in the catalog for sale?
      2. When I click on a particular product, it takes me to the corresponding product page. Are the details shown being taken from WooCommerce? Or do we need to create each individual page for each product?
      3. On the "Order Now" form, are the products shown as options to choose to order defined manually, or can they also be tied into the WooCommerce catalog to show the products we currently have in the catalog for sale? If tied to WooCommerce can we pick the products we want to be in "Order Now".
      4. Are we able to add a new section to the main menu? Would this entail creating a new corresponding section on the body of the ONE PAGE template?
    1. In the CATALOG template (same questions a, b and c on previous case, plus the following ones)...
      1. In the Main Horizontal Menu (on the top), we like how the "Features" section displays a set of child pages. Can this effect be applied to the navigation of the product catalog defined on WooCommerce so that it shows the current active categories and subcategories available?
      2. We notice that the Main Horizontal Menu (on the top), disappears when we scroll down the page. Is there any way possible for us to maintain it floating on the top like it does on all the other templates?

Thank you so much in advance for your kind answers to our questions for us to make a better decision over which template to use.

    All the best!

    Hi Team!

Wow, thank you so much for the help on this. Can you please advise how to we activate the Main Horizontal Menu (on the top) to be in sticky format?

And also can you please provide any pointers on documentation on how to use the WC shortcodes across your template (both on pages and menus)? Thank you so much in advance.

    All the best,

    Max
